METLIFECARE PAVILION

the brief:

The short stroll to the beach from Metlifecare’s Pāpāmoa Beach Retirement Village, promises a holiday resort lifestyle with plenty of sun, sea and sand - and their Pavilion at the centre of it had to be no exception. Boasting resort-style facilities including a wellness centre, hairdressing salon, cafe and bar all contained within, the Urban Lounge Interiors team were tasked with creating a contemporary and relaxed coastal lodge atmosphere for the village’s residents to enjoy.

the outcomes:

The Urban Lounge Interiors team combined warm colours, inspired by a coastal palette, to give the Pavilion its relaxed feel. With areas specifically dedicated to relaxation, dining, pampering and physical activities, we have created an array of inspiring spaces for all to enjoy. Flooring, natural timber screens and feature lighting are used to create zones throughout the larger spaces.

Artwork throughout the Pavilion is reminiscent of a traveller’s collection, adding a luxe touch of the exotic, with seabird-inspired pieces appearing to remind residents of their proximity to the beach. Bright and tropical, leafy patterns find their way into the soft furnishings throughout: a banana-laden wallpaper in the dining area is only one of many feature walls that delight, with rattan details on the furniture and lush potted palms to complete the island holiday theme.
